King Sextimus is cursed to silence and his horrific wife, Queen Aggravian, controls the kingdom. To keep Prince Dauntless single, Aggravian decrees that only a princess who can pass a nearly impossible test may marry Dauntless. Sir Harry is able find an amazing would-be princess, Winnifred the Woebegone who instantly catches Prince Dauntless’ eye and, in the end, passes Aggravian’s impassable sensitivity test.
Ren and his family move to a small town where rock music and dancing are illegal. There’s one small pleasure, however: Ariel, a troubled but lovely blonde with a jealous boyfriend. The town is forcibly kept dance-free by Rev. Moore, but Ren and his classmates want to do away with this ordinance, especially since senior prom is around the corner. Only Ren has the courage to initiate a battle to abolish the outmoded ban and revitalize the spirit of the repressed townspeople.
When June's father dies, she prays for a healer to come to the small town of Gray, so that no one will ever suffer again; the next thing she knows, there’s a tornado, and a man in a balloon blows into town claiming to be a doctor. At first, the new doctor cures anything and everything, but soon the town's preacher takes ill with a mysterious plague. And then the plague begins to spread ...
WHAT’S CS / SOCP?
CENTER STAGE (CS) is home of THE SLIGHTLY OFF CENTER PLAYERS (SOCP), awarded as a 2005 top-ten theatre in the U.S. by the American Association of Community Theatre during nationwide competition. SOCP is home to The Harlequin Players (HP, thrice named the most professional youth live theatre troupe in the state by Texas Nonprofit Theatres in 2005, 2006 and 2009) as well as the award-winning Rhapsody Dance Company (RDC) competition team and musical theatre performance troupe Encore Theatre Company (ETC).
Center Stage is a 4,500 sq. ft. facility with two dance bays, a black box theatre, two lobbies, and a multitude of weekly classes in dance, acting, musical theatre, improvisation, vocal technique and yoga. SOCP also frequently offers youth entertainment activities, a full season of adult and youth live theatre shows and additional music and performance events.

Choose from a variety of theatre classes including stage and advanced acting, film production and technical theatre, plus a multitude of dance classes including tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, modern, hip hop, contemporary, preschool and cheer. Also take advantage of private lessons in dance, acting and voice. Every fall, students enjoy a week of classes completely free. Throughout the year, new students always get their first week of classes completely free.

SOCP ON CABLE TV
2004 — Center Stage’s first TV commercial had lots of parents asking the question: “What’s that song my kid won’t stop singing?” Turns out it was our jingle ... written, recorded and sung by Artistic Director Jeff Sensat.
